This November, long-standing Brookline client Jack Daniel’s announced the Canadian launch of the brand’s latest collaboration with the Sinatra Family, Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century, to celebrate the 100th birthday of musical legend, Frank Sinatra. Just 100 barrels of the latest ultra-premium whiskey from Jack Daniel’s, were released globally in commemoration of Jack and Frank’s special friendship.

Media relations for the Canadian launch of Sinatra Century were managed by Brookline Public Relations, who also coordinated an exclusive media event introducing the Western Canadian market to this limited edition whiskey. Sinatra Century was specially crafted by Master Distiller, Jeff Arnett, and retails at approximately $799.99 per 1L. The event offered Calgary’s top media and key influencers insight into Jack and Frank’s special friendship and the distinct properties of the Sinatra Century whiskey selection. Guests also had the opportunity to sample the ever-popular Sinatra Select, as well as some of Jack Daniel’s other premium whiskey offerings.

As a result of Brookline’s management of the launch, the event saw attendance from 40 of Calgary’s most influential food, lifestyle and business media and bloggers. Ongoing coverage from a wide variety of print, broadcast and online outlets is now set to follow the announcement of the launch and the media event, detailing the centennial celebration of Sinatra, and the two signature whiskey distillations named after him: Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select and Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century.

We can’t think of a better way to head into the holiday season than with a little Jack in our stomachs to keep us warm, and a little Frank in our ears to get us dreaming of a white Christmas.

Western Hospitality Takes on a New Meaning with Jack Daniel’s

Wednesday, July 31st, 2013

It’s typically a busy week for the Brookline team during the Calgary Stampede as we are tasked to help clients with launches, initiatives and events throughout the city. This year was no different. We had the opportunity to support the renowned whiskey brand, Jack Daniel’s, with media relations and execute an exclusive Stampede tasting.

Jack Daniel’s was a proud sponsor of the 2013 Calgary Stampede and supporting sponsor of Nashville North. Jeff Arnett, master distiller for Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, visited Calgary for the 101st Calgary Stampede to celebrate the partnership and promote several of the Jack Daniel’s brands.

Arnett, along with his team, lugged in five different brands of the honey-coloured liquor including the limited edition SINATRA Select brand (which is only available at select Canadian duty free stores).  The tasting took place at Murrieta’s with a five-course meal to accompany the Jack Daniel’s cocktails.

Here are some interesting facts we learned about Jack Daniel’s:

  • All bourbons are whiskeys but not all whiskeys are bourbon.
  • Gentleman Jack is the closest Jack Daniel’s brand to a Canadian Whiskey.
  • SINATRA Select was created in honour of Frank Sinatra.
  • Frank Sinatra was buried with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s No.7, a roll of dimes and a pack of cigarettes.
  • Back in 1955 Frank Sinatra was quoted on stage as saying “Jack Daniel’s is the nectar of the Gods,” and within one year, the sales doubled.
  • Each barrel is carefully handcrafted; Jack Daniel’s is the only spirit manufacturer in the world that handcrafts its own barrel.
  • Arnett was named the seventh master distiller in the history of the Jack Daniel Distillery in 2008, which has been in operation since the mid-1850s.
  • As master distiller, Arnett oversees the entire whiskey-making process of milling, yeasting, fermentation, distillation, charcoal mellowing and maturation. He also oversees a panel of official whiskey tasters who are responsible for deciding – by smell and taste, not by the calendar – when a barrel of whisky is ready for bottling.

Both Jack Daniel’s and the Calgary Stampede have longstanding histories and value tradition, western hospitality and community spirit.  Brookline was pleased to help elevate the whiskey brand’s profile in Calgary.
