Brookline Gets Feet Wet With Rotary/Mattamy Greenway Event

Brookline recently supported Mattamy Homes in an event celebrating the launch of the third and final phase of the Rotary/Mattamy Greenway which took place on September 16, 2015. The event included a formal press conference, featuring Mayor Nenshi, and concluded with a family friendly public celebration.

Brookline was responsible for managing event logistics and execution for the entire event, which included sourcing vendors, coordinating event partners, arranging for a group of students from a local school to attend and working with Mattamy Homes, Parks Foundation Calgary and the Rotary Clubs of Calgary to ensure the event was executed seamlessly.

On the morning of the event, Brookline joined forces with a team of dedicated volunteers to set up everything from picnic tables, tents, food services and directional signage in preparation for guests to arrive. Event partners, including Running Room, the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Bow Cycle were also present to support and showcase the overarching themes of wetland and wildlife preservation, as well as active living.

Mayor Nenshi kicked off the press conference portion of the event along with representatives from the provincial government, Parks Foundation Calgary, Mattamy Homes and the Calgary South Rotary Club. Mayor Nenshi also assisted in the launch of an exciting new social media campaign, entitled “I ❤ #myGreenway”, by posting the first tweet using #myGreenway.

Following the press conference, guests enjoyed a free BBQ lunch, live music and family-fun activities, including face painting and themed games from Parks Foundation Calgary and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.

The event was also well attended by media, including representatives from the Globe and Mail, CTV News, Global News and the Calgary Herald, who provided excellent local and national coverage for the event.

A whirlwind event, the phase launch for the Greenway was a great success, thanks to the dedication of the Brookline team and the wonderful event partners who made it all possible.
