Simply Better Results: Brookline Public Relations named Edo Japan’s Agency of Record for the seventh consecutive year

Posted on February 1, 2017

CALGARY (February 1, 2017) – Brookline Public Relations (Brookline), an award-winning boutique public relations agency, is thrilled to cook up another year of strategic public relations for Edo Japan (Edo). Brookline has been awarded Agency of Record (AOR) for Edo for the seventh consecutive year.

“We value Brookline’s strategic and creative public relations efforts to help us solidify Edo’s reputation as one of Canada’s top quick service restaurants,” said Dave Minnett, President and CEO, Edo Japan. “We look forward to continuing this relationship into 2017 and building momentum as Edo continues to grow across Canada.”

Edo Japan has been serving hot, fast and delicious Teppan-style meals to its customers for more than 35 years. Edo is committed to delivering fresh, delicious and ‘Simply Better’ meals to its customers with more than 115 locations across Canada.

Edo experienced growth and exciting changes throughout 2016 with the opening of eight new restaurants and the introduction of new store-front branding. Edo is poised for further growth into 2017 with new promotions and menu items, including their recently announced Chop Chop Bowls.

“We’re extremely happy to work with Edo in the coming year,” said Shauna MacDonald, Principal and Founder, Brookline Public Relations. “Edo’s team has always embraced forward-thinking and innovative ideas and it remains a true pleasure to work with its team. We are excited to continue telling Edo’s story by executing multifaceted campaigns and fresh public relations initiatives.”

Kicking off the new year in 2016, Edo partnered with online influencers, various fitness studios and local food banks to promote its Healthy Choices campaign. Edo also launched its popular new menu item, the Noodlefull Bowl, which Brookline supported with a variety of traditional and social media initiatives.

Another notable win for Edo was receiving the 2016 Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) Franchisees’ Choice designation. Edo was recognized for its accomplishment in receiving the designation for the past five years.

Edo’s ‘Edo a Little, Help a Lot’ Holiday Campaign saw success once again in 2016, with 25 cents from every spring roll purchased throughout the holiday season donated to local Canadian food banks. New this year was a ‘Double-Up Day’, during which Edo donated double the amount (50 cents) from every spring roll sold during a 24-hour period. Brookline supported Edo in building great partnerships with online influencers to promote Double-Up Day and the overall ‘Edo a Little, Help a Lot’ Holiday Campaign. In total, the campaign raised more than $64,000 for food banks across Canada.

Brookline’s work with Edo Japan in 2017 will include event management, traditional and digital media relations, issues and crisis management, and franchise communications.
