Brookline takes to new heights with JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District and The Legends Private Residences

At Brookline, our aim is to always provide our clients with the best service by continually going above (literally) and beyond for every project. On May 8th, we took to new heights with the topping off of Edmonton’s newest luxury hotel JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District and The Legends Private Residences. In the construction world, the topping off of the structural portion of a building is a major milestone. So, in Brookline style, we had to celebrate.

For the event, ICE District treated media and VIP’s to the 46th floor of the tower, the highest vantage point the public has been in the city to date.  Here, the media got an exclusive look of the tower and panoramic views of Edmonton’s ever-changing landscape. Once complete, the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District and The Legends Private Residences will stand 56 storeys high – the first 22 storeys as hotel space and The Legends Private Residences above the hotel.

Promising approachable luxury, the hotel will feature 356 rooms of elegant accommodations, luxury spa offerings and Edmonton’s largest ballroom at 10,500 sq. ft. The Legends Private Residences will be the ultimate in luxury living, with sophisticated and functional condominium homes with panoramic city views.

Speaking to the luxury theme, the topping off celebration included a short formal program with words from Edmonton’s Mayor Don Iveson, Martin Stitt from Marriott Hotels Canada and Glen Scott from Katz Group Real Estate, concluding with a ‘topping off’ of a cake replica of the tower. The event also included ICE District partners, government officials and executives from ONE Properties, JW Marriott, Oilers Entertainment Group, as well as Edmonton media.

JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District is slated to open in Q1 of 2019 and we can’t wait to experience all the state-of-the-art offerings. The Legends Private Residences is set to open from Q2 to Q4 of 2019. If you’re looking to be a homeowner, hurry because it is already over 90 per cent sold!

Brookline opens Edmonton Tower, the first high-rise in Edmonton’s ICE District

Tuesday, May 9th, 2017

Sophie Pilon, Account Supervisor

Brookline had the opportunity to provide public relations support to ICE District as it officially opened Edmonton Tower for business, the first of several planned towers to open its doors to the public. Brookline supported with event management and media relations for the Grand Opening celebration in February.

The announcement was held in the lobby of the Edmonton Tower – a stunning space to match the contemporary architecture and innovative design of ICE District.

ICE District partners, community officials, and executives including Daryl Katz of Katz Group, Darren Durstling of ONE Properties, Bob Nicholson, CEO and Vice-Chair of Oilers Entertainment Group, City of Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson were all present at the event. Guests were treated to speeches from key figures, ribbon cutting with photo opportunity and lively performances from Firefly Theatre and Circus.

Edmonton Tower is a modern, Class AAA office building that not only features world-class sustainability systems, but is designed to be both architecturally-progressive and highly functional. To the west, it will be connected above ground to the forthcoming JW Marriott Edmonton, which will link it directly to Rogers Place. An above-ground walkway joins Edmonton Tower and Bell Tower on the south, providing indoor access to the rest of the downtown pedway system.

The City of Edmonton is the primary tenant of Edmonton Tower, which began transitioning the majority of its staff to the Tower in the fall of 2016. On the second floor of Edmonton Tower, the city opened its Edmonton Service Centre, providing Edmontonians with central, easy access to licensing, ticketing and other City services

ICE District also features the home of the Edmonton Oilers, Rogers Place, and will soon feature a vibrant public plaza, JW Marriott Edmonton, condominiums, retail, restaurants, nightlife and more.

JW Marriott Edmonton will feature 356 rooms and suites, more than 25,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and conference space and one of the city’s largest ballrooms at over 10,000 square feet. The hotel will also feature Spa by JW, a luxurious spa offering an array of treatment options, and a restaurant operated by one of Canada’s premier restauranteurs.
