Feld Entertainment Dares to Dream

Thursday, December 20th, 2018

Amanda Kemsley, Account Manager

For the second year, Brookline supported Feld Entertainment with two of its biggest shows in Calgary: Monster Jam and Disney on Ice Presents Dare to Dream. Brookline was pleased to once again work with Feld Entertainment – a leader in producing and bringing live touring family entertainment experiences to people worldwide. To say working with this client is a magical experience is an understatement!

Brookline was able to provide Calgarians with a once-in-a-lifetime experience which was amplified through strategic media and influencer relations. Monster Jam provided adrenaline-charged entertainment and drew in a crowd of all ages! This year before the show, Brookline hosted a Meet N’ Greet opportunity providing kids with the chance to jump inside a Monster Jam truck and explore from a driver’s point of view. Media were also able to have an exclusive look and meet the professionals behind the wheel.

Disney On Ice brought a new experience with its Dare to Dream Production. Moana made her on ice debut and joined heroines Cinderella, Rapunzel and Belle for an enchanted performance. Brookline worked alongside influencers to provide their children with an exclusive opportunity to take part in the show and to share their experience with their audiences! The VIP experience allowed the children to ride in a cart on ice alongside Rapunzel and friends and take part in the floating lanterns celebration during the show.

No matter the age, Disney On Ice and Monster Jam had something in store for everyone. While reliving childhood dreams, Brookline shared the magic with top-tier outlets including CTV, Global, Breakfast Television, 660 News and more and had the opportunity to delight many influencers in the Calgary market.

A Look Back at the Year of Influence

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

Shama Walji, Office Manager and Executive Assistant

As one of Canada’s leading boutique public relations agencies, Brookline is pretty awesome. A team is only as good as its players and we rock each other’s world (in a good way) every single day.

2018 marked the year of influence and Angela Cabucos couldn’t have said it better at the start of the year when she described influence as, “capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself.”

As we close off 2018, I can’t help but to think how Brookline had such a stellar year.

Let’s take a look:

We Added to Our All-Star Team

Brookline’s team is always expanding and growing with the industry’s finest. This year we welcomed Jenna Hamilton, Ottilie Coldbeck, Nicole Herback as interns, Jas Badesha as PR Assistant, Katie Temple as Account Executive, and Janelle Sacucci as Account Manager.

We Celebrated Some Pretty BIG Milestones

This year, Brookline marked its 14th year in business. We were able to surprise and celebrate the woman who started it all: Shauna MacDonald and the influential leader, mentor, and friend that she is. We also celebrated our very own Sophie Pilon on her sixth anniversary at Brookline, Leanna Kruk for four years at Brookline, and Lisa Libin for three years at Brookline.

… And Some BIG Wins in Influencing the Industry

Here’s the thing, a little side hustle is influential and that’s what good agencies do. Brookline had some remarkable wins in 2018 through influencing our community.

Ahem – to mention just a few:

Internal Team Wins

A major component of Brookline’s culture is celebrating the team through quarterly fun days and team workouts, thank tanks, mentorship programs, pillar awards, this year’s influencer award, and of course promotions. These rock stars were promoted in 2018:

  • Leanna Kruk to Group Director
  • Sophie Pilon to Account Director
  • Shama Walji to Office Manager and Executive Assistant
  • Angela Cabucos to Senior Account Manager
  • Amanda Kemsley to Account Manager
  • Jas Badesha to Account Coordinator
  • Jenna Hamilton to PR Assistant
  • Ottilie Coldbeck to Senior Intern

In 2018, there was so much to celebrate – I cannot wait to see what other amazing accomplishments will be in the books for 2019.

Stantec Tower Officially Reaches Historic Heights as the Tallest Tower Outside of Toronto

Monday, December 3rd, 2018

Jenna Hamilton, Public Relations Assistant

It’s official! Edmonton is now home to the tallest tower outside of Toronto. On November 16th, ICE District celebrated the topping off of Stantec Tower, marking the structural completion of the building. Standing tall at 69-storeys, this impressive beacon has forever changed Edmonton’s skyline.

To mark this historic milestone, Brookline supported in planning a press conference on the 60th floor of Stantec Tower, where guests had the opportunity to see spectacular views of the city. The event included a short, formal program with remarks from Glen Scott from Katz Group Real Estate, Gord Johnston from Stantec and Councillor Mohinder Banga from the City of Edmonton. In commemoration of this milestone, ICE District partners and executives were invited to the stage for the symbolic signing of a beam, which is now ceremoniously displayed in the lobby of Stantec Tower.

Following the signing, those brave enough to go outside on the 68th floor to stand at the highest, coldest point outside of Russia (yes, you read that right) were invited for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, heading to the top of the tower to view Edmonton’s landscape from every angle. A view that only a few will have the opportunity to see atop Stantec Tower. Attendees could see the North Saskatchewan River from miles away, and look 251 metres down to see cars that were the size of ants.

Brookline’s media relations efforts resulted in 41 national media stories from several major outlets, and over 6 million impressions. The team was honoured to have been part of this historic milestone for ICE District, and is looking forward to celebrating the completion of SKY Residences atop Stantec Tower in the fall of 2019.
