2008 Survivors Parade

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Once again, Brookline Public Relations sported our Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) committee shirts at this year’s Survivors Parade on Tuesday, September 9 at Bankers Hall.

For the fourth year in a row, Brookline supported the CBCF with in-kind media relations and waved our pink pompoms high in the air to honor more than 200 female and male breast cancer survivors.

The survivors came down the escalators in years of survivorship and gathered for an emotional program, emceed by CTV’s Vickie Chase, with speeches from CIBC, the CBCF, a Run Director and a two time breast cancer survivor. The event finished off with survivors parading down Stephen Avenue raising awareness and celebrating their personal victories.

The Survivors Parade marked its fifth anniversary and kicked off Think Pink Week and the 17th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on October 5th at Southcentre Mall.
