Volunteers Think PINK for Stampede Pancake Breakfast

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Brookline PR kicked off its fourth consecutive year with pro bono client the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure with Southcentre Mall’s annual Calgary Stampede Breakfast on Wednesday, July 9. The Brookline team coordinated media interviews and assisted volunteers with handing out information and CBCF merchandise, including popular temporary ribbon tattoos and stickers for the children.

Breakfast-goers were treated to sunny weather, a delicious breakfast featuring “PINK” pancakes (back by popular demand), live entertainment, and a pony decorated in pink for people to take photos with. New this year was a pink shrink wrapped truck courtesy of Cool Cars Cruising 4 Cancer.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada’s largest single-day fundraising event dedicated to funding breast cancer research, education and awareness. In 2007, participants from across the country helped to raise more than $27 million for the cause and over $1.8 million in Calgary along. By increasing awareness, at events like the pancake breakfast, volunteers hope to make the 2008 CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday, October 5, the most successful Run ever.
