Brookline is excited to be working with Ford of Canada once again and we are looking forward to supporting their Southern Alberta grassroots public relations activities. We’ve supported the iconic brand with some exciting projects these past six months and we are thrilled to share some highlights in the following weeks. Enjoy the read, we sure enjoyed the road!

When driving on Alberta roads, safety is the first thing on everyone’s mind. So, when we had to hit the road in the middle of winter and head to Edmonton for a client media event, our first thought was we need a safe, reliable vehicle. We are precious cargo after all!

We took the opportunity to experience a brand new 2017 Lincoln MKC loaned to us by Universal Ford Lincoln here in Calgary. For two ladies who own dated, shall we say, vehicles, we were tickled pink and jumped at the chance to safely travel in style to our northern neighbouring city.

Technology has come a long way in vehicles with Ford offering an array of new technology across their lineup, and the 2017 Lincoln MKC is no exception. While driving the burgundy beauty, we noticed the lane keeping system which monitors road lane markings and helps drivers detect unintentional drifting outside of a lane. If the camera detects an impending unintentional drift, the system can use the steering system and the instrument cluster display to alert and aid drivers to stay in their lane. Needless to say, we had fun testing it out, safely of course!

Yes! We were listening to rap oldies!

The Lincoln MKC made a dull highway drive to Edmonton a real treat for us and we securely arrived on time for our media event and couldn’t wait to get back on the road in our luxury ride!

For the third consecutive year, Brookline Public Relations had the opportunity to partner with the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) to execute a comprehensive PR campaign focused on investor education. In order to increase awareness for the ASC and the important work it does to help Albertans protect themselves from investment fraud, Brookline coordinated public engagement opportunities for the ASC through Home and Garden Shows in key markets, including Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge.

This was paired with strategic social media tactics and a targeted digital advertising campaign which ran throughout March, which is Fraud Prevention Month.

Brookline also provided media relations and event management support for a public activation in which the ASC took over a local Edmonton coffee shop, rebranding it as the CheckFirst Café to take a grassroots approach in reminding Albertans to ‘check first’ before making investment decisions. The decked out coffee shop offered Edmontonians free coffee and advice and featured the Heebee Jeebees as singing baristas who delighted customers with a coffee-themed custom jingle written just for the ASC. Fraudaccinos, Lost Dream Lattes and Scammer Scones in hand, more than 500 Edmonton residents left the CheckFirst Café both caffeinated and informed.

The campaign microsite, www.checkfirst.ca, which was implemented when Brookline first partnered with the ASC three years ago, continues to act as pillar for the ASC’s investor education outreach and a central hub of information for Albertans looking to educate themselves about avoiding investment fraud.

The ASC also issued an Alberta-wide press release coinciding with Fraud Prevention Month to spread the word to Albertans about protecting themselves from fraud. The campaign resulted in a notable increase in public engagement with, and understanding of, the ASC, as well as outstanding ongoing media coverage from a wide variety of print, broadcast and online outlets province-wide.

In January, it was announced that Edmonton’s ICE District will be the future home and first Alberta location for global hotel brand JW Marriott. Set in the heart of Edmonton’s downtown core, JW Marriott Edmonton will provide guests with luxurious hotel rooms, exclusive amenities and unsurpassed customer service.

JW 1

Brookline was honoured to support ICE District in executing and coordination one of Edmonton’s most significant hotel developments in over three decades. To maintain the exclusivity behind the announcement and generate excitement, limited details were released to media invitees. On January 13, guests gathered at ICE Headquarters where they were met with the sophistication, style and elegance reflective of JW Marriott’s iconic brand.

JW 2

JW Marriott Edmonton will feature 356 rooms and suites, more than 25,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and conference space and one of the city’s largest ballrooms at over 10,000 square feet. The hotel will also feature Spa by JW, a luxurious spa offering an array of treatment options, and a restaurant operated by one of Canada’s premier restauranteurs.

Coordination of the exclusive announcement saw Brookline in charge of event logistics and execution, from managing show flow to organizing catering and even securing a key-shaped ice sculpture. With prominent media, ICE District partners and Marriott Hotel executives in attendance, Glen Scott, Senior Vice President, Real Estate for Katz Group, officially welcomed JW Marriott to ICE District’s family.
