Brookline supports Backwoods Energy Services (Backwoods), a 100 per cent Indigenous-owned construction services company, with a variety of PR and community initiatives.
Brookline developed and executed a communications strategy for Backwoods focused on both internal and external communications. Strategic tactics included building key messages, researching and securing speaking opportunities, completing winning award submissions on behalf of the organization, and writing and conducting an employee survey, for which Brookline attained completion rates as high as 86 per cent and garnered positive feedback from employees.
Other highlights of Brookline’s work include successfully securing two Edmonton Oilers hockey players to join a holiday event at the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation for a meet and greet. The agency also oversaw the production of a corporate video shot at various locations, including the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, and also supported the launch of the company’s new Indigenous Home Ownership Program through media relations tactics.
