Mark’s outfits Canadian country star Brett Kissel for life on the road

Brett Kissel is a fifth generation Albertan, and happens to be one of Canada’s leading country music superstars. Like many musicians, Brett is currently living life on the road as he continues his three-month cross-Canada tour. This begs the question: how does a musician pack stylish outfits for the stage, while also wanting day to day style and comfort?

Mark’s, Canada’s number one men’s casual apparel destination, offers a wide-variety of denim for all lifestyles and personalities. Whether you are looking for denim to take you to the mountains or the new trendy bar downtown, Mark’s has something to suit any style. Brett has been a long supporter of Mark’s denim, so it was only natural that they partnered up to outfit him for his We Were That Song tour.

Mark’s tasked Brookline to conduct media outreach surrounding Brett’s scheduled concert dates in Calgary and Edmonton to discuss what he packs on the road and what denim he wears to rock out on stage.

The two-day-interview blitz was well received in both Edmonton and Calgary. The campaign garnered more than 1.8 million media impressions and generated 12 pieces of broadcast and online coverage.

Brookline PR secured interviews with The Weather Network, CTV Calgary, Global Calgary and 660 News where Brett was able to discuss life on the road, what being a Canadian country superstar means to him and why Mark’s is his go-to denim store.

Nothing beats the feeling of finding the perfect pair of blue jeans. Brookline was thrilled to partner with Mark’s on this initiative and showcase why they are Canada’s top denim supplier.

This campaign is part of an ongoing partnership between Mark’s and Brookline.

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP Announces Generous Donation and a Three-Year Commitment to the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre

The positive changes we see in our communities would not be possible without the efforts of non-profit organizations. These organizations are dedicated to supporting others and making a difference. With resources donated by community partners and supporters, non-profits can focus on achieving goals and bettering our communities. The Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre (SKCAC) is able to be a safe-haven for children affected by abuse because of community support. This is why Brookline is proud to have recently worked alongside national law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) to announce its generous donation of time and resources to the SKCAC.

With Brookline’s support, BLG held a press conference at the SKCAC on February 27, during which BLG’s Regional Managing Partner, Alan Ross, and CEO of the SKCAC, Sara Austin, announced the firm’s three-year commitment to the Centre, which included a generous donation of $150,000. BLG has also committed to providing pro bono legal services, and volunteers at various events held at the Centre. The donation amount will directly support the Child Life Program, which includes the cost of care for resident Pet Access League Society (PALS) dogs Webster and Axel, who also made a surprise appearance at the press conference.

Brookline handled both the planning logistics and media relations for the event, which resulted in five local news outlets in attendance, including the Calgary Herald, the Calgary Sun, CTV Calgary News, City TV and 660 News. The news conference resulted in a total of 16 media stories garnered and nearly four million media impressions.

Brookline is thrilled to have worked with both BLG and the SKCAC to announce this important partnership that will help to propel child advocacy forward and provide immeasurable support for children in need.

“Brookline consistently delivers stellar results that are recognized throughout our company,” said Joanna Buckingham, Senior Manager of Marketing, Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit. “They have become an invaluable extension of our team and we’re excited to accomplish much more with the agency in the year to come.”

This year marks Brookline’s eighth consecutive year as AOR for the rapidly-growing, Japanese quick-serve restaurant, Edo. This year will see accelerated growth for Edo as the business expands into different markets across Canada and launches its new in-store concept, Edo Japan Fresh Take. “For many years, Brookline has supported the evolution of the Edo brand with great success,” said Kathy Campitelli, Vice President of Marketing at Edo Japan. “We are preparing for extensive growth in both new and existing markets across the country this year, and we couldn’t be happier to have a strong partner like Brookline by our side.”

“We are fortunate to have such great working relationships with Pursuit, Edo and Jayman,” said Shauna MacDonald, Principal and Founder, Brookline Public Relations. “Being named as the agency of record for three established and successful organizations is a result of our ability to evolve alongside these brands as they grow nationally and we are looking forward to digging deep into communication strategies that will influence their 2018 objectives.”
